Elsewhere on a Plane

fragments of space and time, layered into one plane

Chance Encounter Project

We all see the world differently. Even in the same physical space, we frame it in countless ways, noticing and feeling different things.

But what happens when two people’s perspectives overlap—literally? What if one person’s capture of a moment is layered onto another’s, completely at random? Can chance encounters create decisive moments?

I decided to explore this idea. Each of us will shoot a full roll of film, then swap and expose it again—without knowing what the other has captured. The result? Double exposures created blindly. The only constraints are location and the camera/film specifications.
